2007 EVENT DATES ANNOUNCED: chicken event June 2; golden spike June
22-24; pumpkin event September 29.
SCHOLARSHIPS: discussion ensued about recipients using funds
during a following year if unable to utilize during the current year.
Permission granted! Bonnie planning to do Eric Smiley.
Pete Haak plans to go to adult camp next summer.
LOCAL RIDER CAMP: Danielle announced that Cathy and dale Woolsey
have offered to host a local rider camp (all ages) next summer and suggested
memorial weekend (last weekend in may) as an opportune
time to help WREA members ready for the season. Discussion ensued about how
WREA can help support the educational opportunity. carol
suggested WREA help prep course at a volunteer day and bonnie suggested
possible clinician connections.
POINTS AND AWARDS: motion unnecessary. Points
and awards to remain same.
BANQUET: decided on SLC location, last weekend in January. tasks appointed: bonnie to centerpieces; Ingrid to awards
and prizes; Suzanne, Danielle and Trisha to look for venue; sally to seek
homestead trade outs and ask Ellen about sponsorship and auction.
SPONSOR APPRECIATION PARTY: discussed possibility of
hosting party for 20-30 sponsors past and future. date
29/30th November and to include drinks/hors d'ouvres/or
lunch. Danielle and sally to secure location ASAP. Carol
to print invitations. Trisha and Ingrid to supply mail
list.
PUBLIC DIRECTORY: importance discussed. Need for hard copy and
email list. Danielle to ask Trisha.
NEW MEMBERS: how to generate new interest as well as looking
out for existing membership's interests discussed. Comments made
regarding cross over interest with UDS and UHJA. ) possibility of WREA
sponsored prize at UHJA awards mooted/hunter pace award sponsored by WREA.. did I get this right?) Perhaps mailing to UDS/UHJA lists regarding upcoming events.
